Our philosophy
We pride ourselves that Avondene has a very homely feel to it.
We have Dedicated and compassionate staff who will always go the extra mile to ensure our residents are supported with all aspects of daily living. We believe that care and support can be offered in partnership with family and representatives and we will always strive hard to include residents’ family and friends in daily routines.
Our philosophy is to support each resident towards achieving as much independence as their personal circumstances permit. We provide a range of meaningful and enjoyable in-house activities to stimulate the mind, body and soul.
Our history
Avondene is owned by Christchurch Housing Society, an organisation with charitable status which was founded in 1946 and since then has been providing accommodation for older people both in flats and in nursing and residential homes. Across Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch.
We are run by unpaid trustees and any surpluses are invested in the community.
How we are regulated
Avondene is regulated by the
Care Quality Commission, and they carry out regular inspections to monitor the standards of our provision.
